Exchange rates
Where Zahlenwerk gets the rates for converted totals and when they are updated.
Zahlenwerk converts totals only, such as the total volume and metrics across several currencies. Individual accounts, loans and positions stay in their booked currency. Converted totals are therefore indicative, not booked values.
Sources
| Currency | Source |
|---|---|
| USD, AUD, CAD, CHF, DKK, GBP, HKD, JPY, NOK, NZD, SEK | Euro reference rates of the European Central Bank (ECB) |
| COP | Colombian TRM, via USD |
| PEN | SBS rate of the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (BCRP), via USD |
| ARS | Comunicación A 3500 reference rate of the Banco Central de la República Argentina (BCRA), via USD |
"Via USD" means the EUR rate for the currency is the ECB's EUR → USD rate times the central bank's USD → currency rate.
Updates
- ECB: daily at 16:30 UTC. The ECB publishes on working days around 16:00 CET; until the fetch, the previous day's rates apply. There are no new rates on weekends and TARGET holidays.
- TRM, BCRP, BCRA: daily between 03:30 and 03:45 UTC.
If a currency has had no rate for 31 days, Zahlenwerk does not convert it. The total leaves it out and names it in the note ("No exchange rate for …, so it is not included in the totals").
Banking
Under Banking every total uses the newest rates. The note below the figures names the source and date, for example "Amounts in USD converted to EUR at ECB reference rates of 27/10/2026". Display currency picks the currency of the totals; By currency shows them unconverted.
Portfolio
In the portfolio, Zahlenwerk converts each position at its own dates: cost at the entry date, the valuation at its as-of date. You choose the currency as the reporting currency, see Metrics.
